In Akron or Cleveland, maintaining an epoxy and polyaspartic coated floor is crucial to combat the region’s mix of hot summers and snowy winters. The epoxy and polyaspartic coating systems are ideal for this environment, offering a blend of durability and easy maintenance that other flooring options can’t match. Still, your garage floors need proper care. Here’s how you clean the floors we install.
Broom and a Mop
The basic tools needed are a broom, a bucket with a wringer, and a string mop. For a more comprehensive cleaning process, a leaf blower, Wash & Wax automotive detergent, and a microfiber dust mop are recommended. Don’t mess around with regular detergents, since they leave a residue that can make the floor look dull.
How to Clean
Start by using a broom or leaf blower to remove loose debris. Mix warm water with 1 oz of Wash & Wax detergent per gallon in a bucket, and mop the floor with this solution. Air drying is usually sufficient, but using a microfiber dust mop can help prevent slips. For outdoor spaces, hose down the area and use a foam squeegee to clear excess water. This cleaning regimen ensures your epoxy and polyaspartic coating remains pristine and durable, even in Ohio’s challenging climate.
Of note: The ease of cleaning here is partly what sets epoxy coatings apart from other flooring options. You can’t just sweep and mop wood, carpet, or even tile and expect the longevity and quality you get with the kinds of floors we install.
